The safety and overall well-being of our members are at the forefront as we all navigate the complex challenges presented by COVID-19. We appreciated your patience as we worked diligently to ensure a safe summer season for our members.
To say this year was challenging for our Friendly Park community would be an understatement. There were so many unknowns in the spring leading up to whether we would even be able to open or not. It was exceedingly difficult to make plans when everything was simply up in the air.
We would like to personally thank the membership, the board, and most especially Erin and her staff for working together to provide, under the given circumstances, some semblance of summer normalcy! While it was not the year we expected at the pool, we are incredibly pleased with how this summer went. And our hope is most of you are as well.
We deeply appreciate all our members’ confidence and commitment to the pool.
Another very sincere and heartfelt thank you to our amazing pool staff. They went above and beyond in every way to make sure we have had a safe fun place to call home this summer. We kept as many traditions as we were able, including swim practice and the Synchronized Swimming show!
A very special thanks to Shane Abernathy for leading the baby pool renovation project which, being 2020, was not without its own substantial hurdles, yet turned out beautifully!!
While we hope to be able to do some fun fall and winter activities, we will have to see what the coming months bring. We are always open to comments and suggestions as we move forward.
So, in closing, thank you to everyone again for your trust and patience with us this year and we sincerely hope that we are all able to celebrate a city championship next summer!!
With Gratitude,
The Friendly Park Board of Directors
